After its runaway success with more than 10,000 participants and a sold-out race last year, Race the Dead is shaking their zombie run up this month. Held at night, the run will now snake through Sentosa, which was once known as Pulau Belakang Mati, or the Island of Death from Behind. Besides the zombies who will go after runners for their life flags – these determine whether or not participants ‘survive’ the race – there will be scare actors upping the scream factor. But not to worry. With military Load Bearing Vests (LBVs), runners will be adequately kitted out to survive the attack. The LBVs replace running jerseys, and runners will also have the freedom to dress up, especially since there’s a post-race party at Zouk – if you’re still alive to enjoy it.
