Have a Cuban-themed date night in Singapore

Revolutionise your dating experience and liberate yourself from the same old boring night. Start off by transporting your date to Nueva Cuba (#01-03 Customs House, 70 Collyer Quay; 6535 0538) for a classic Cuban mojito ($17-$19). The cocktails here are strong – which could be good or bad, depending on how the night progresses and what you’re looking to get out of it.

Next, wander over to Chinatown and tuck into The Olde Cuban (#02-01,2 Trengganu St; 6222 2207), a cigar bar on the second floor of a shophouse. As you would expect, pictures of Che Guevara adorn the dark red walls, insinuating a desire to shout ‘Viva la Revolución!’. After you take your pick – wooden boxes are displayed in glass cases around the bar – let the smoke placate your senses and snuggle up on the leather couches. Do try the Montecristo No 4 ($23), the best-selling Cuban cigar in the world.
