Jasmine Tuan is a regular on fashion blogs and cool parties, and a third of hip label FrüFrü & Tigerlily

The reason Jasmine Tuan reason is arguably the city’s number-one style queen is Blackmarket, the local boutique she founded along with her pal Quincy Teofisto. Apart from dealing cult brands like Ksubi and Tauer Perfumes, it’s known for supporting the best local labels, such as Ling Wu and young&restless.
Wearing: Top from Unif, leggings from Topshop, shoes from Surface to Air, metal cuff from Carrie K, earring from Topshop.
The look: ‘Simple with a rock punch.’
Style secret: ‘I like balancing crazy accessories with something basic. I also like surprises, like a plain top with a twist somewhere will just intrigue – this one has a cute tagline that says ‘Jesus Saves, I Spend’. Love it! It’s for guys, but I bought it anyway. I don’t really care about size or gender.’
Most treasured item: ‘I just lost one! It was a Longchamp x Jeremy Scott bag designed like a gigantic gold credit card that someone stole in Phuket. It’s a limited-edition series and I can’t find it any more. I hope that the fellow who stole it knows what it is and treasures it – it really broke my heart. My recent favourite is this pair of shoes I got from Surface to Air. They’re a mixture of rock ’n’ roll and cowboy.’
Wardrobe essential: ‘Good basics are a must. And a good pair of shoes – a comfortable, statement pair that you can wear all the time.’
Where she shops: ‘The last time I went crazy was at Front Row’s sale.’
Local designers she digs: ‘I really dig Carrie K’s jewellery. I also like Al & Alicia, which is a great mix of girly and masculine. Jason is another one of my favourites – androgynous, but both girls and guys can wear it.’
