Here's our top five picks for Restaurant Week:

inITALY Bar Ristorante
Don’t be fooled by the tiny entrance and narrow courtyard in the front – this smart, Mediterranean-styled restaurant takes up the entire ground floor of two shophouses. Owned by former Hyatt (Bali) chef and Forlino chef patron Mario Caramello, who lends a subtle class to his classic Italian dishes. 38 Craig Road (6423 0918, restaurantweek.sg). MRT: Tanjong Pagar.

Keystone Restaurant
Singaporean Mark Richards’ modern, fusion approach stems from his days working in kitchens across Melbourne. In his grey-tableclothed Stanley Street shophouse of hardwood floors and dark red walls, the place settings bring character to the table: custom-made, fan-shaped slates set into ceramic plates and cutlery imported from Germany add an appropriately formal business-lunch appeal. 11/12 Stanley Street (6221 0046, restaurantweek.sg). MRT: Tanjong Pagar.

Garibaldi Italian Restaurant
Garibaldi is a chic, modern Italian eatery situated along the funky Purvis Street. The fashionable and sophisticated atmosphere as well as the stylish bar make this a popular venue to gather and socialise. The tantalising menu consists of authentic Italian dishes created from fresh, quality ingredients imported directly from Italy. 36 Purvis Street (6837 1468, restaurantweek.sg). MRT: Bugis.

Oso Ristorante
The menu here changes monthly. Its strengths lie in its variety and authenticity, with soft accents from the Tuscan and Piedmonte regions. There is much that delights, not least the attentive service. 4 Bkt Pasoh Road (6327 8378, restaurantweek.sg). MRT: Tanjong Pagar.

Table at 7
This is a union of French-leaning European chef Karl Dobler and Indonesian food catering chef Eugenia Ong, although the lines are drawn clearly: they run the glass-windowed kitchen behind this 40-seater, offering a menu that lists both cuisines. 7 Mohd Sultan Road (6836 6362, restaurantweek.sg). MRT: Clarke Quay.
