Housed in a former 19th-century British military hospital, this ‘museum’ lets you in on Singapore’s history, cultures and values via a series of multi-media exhibits in under an hour. Overall it’s a bit of a muddle; the best displays include stirring footage of the Japanese Surrender in 1945, events leading to the independence of Singapore in 1965, and the displays showcasing various ethnic cultures and traditions (ugly wax mannequins notwithstanding). The place also houses a restaurant and an extensive souvenir shop.
