By using something as apparently insignificant as the humble stamp as a springboard into Singapore’s past, the Philatelic Museum is more successful at recounting the history of the country than other more wide-ranging museums. The displays – some permanent, others changing – are well presented, and interactive enough to keep younger visitors engaged. It’s also a working post office: where better to fire off a few postcards of your own?
