Kallang Theatre

Long before Sands Theatre and Esplanade Theatres on the Bay, there was Kallang Theatre where Broadway musicals like Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Miss Saigon, and Chicago were staged. Originally built as a cinema in 1970s, it was converted to a live performance theatre in 1986. It underwent a facelift in the third quarter of 2011. The 1700-seater auditorium is equipped with the latest lighting technology and sound equipment and has an electronically operated orchestra pit.
