Under the helm of Stephanie Tham – a Singaporean who learnt her trade at Christie’s, New York – Galerie Steph manages to combine a taste for modern masters from Europe and America with a dedication to offering the best work by young and emerging talent from the local area. South American art plays a prominent role, particularly the work of figurative painter Fernando Botero; indeed, the gallery was the venue for the Colombian’s first Singapore exhibition in 2004.
