Société Générale Gallery

A stone’s throw away from Newton MRT station, the Société Générale Gallery is housed on the second level of the multi-coloured Perspex cube that is the Alliance Française building. Aiming to bridge the gap between Singaporean and French culture, the gallery features art from all over the world, from young experimental artists to established masters. The annual ‘France and Singapore Photographic Arts Award’ is one of their most popular exhibitions. With around 14 exhibitions a year, this busy gallery should have something for everyone. Upstairs, meanwhile, a café serves food and drinks to hungry culture vultures.
