The Metropoli d’Asia-Catalyst or MAC Prize isn’t exactly an event, but it should provide plenty of motivation for local writers to get scrawling in time for next year. In addition to ‘guaranteed publication in Singapore and Europe’, the winner gets at least $20,000 prize money and a hefty advance on royalties. This newly created literary initiative is now the largest English-fiction prize in Asia. Go to the website for full details.
