Second-hand bookstore that's popular with expectant mothers and backpackers

First published on 9 Mar 2010. Updated on 9 Mar 2010.

This second-hand bookstore was around before I was born and is a popular resource for mothers-to-be and backpackers who can’t afford a new Lonely Planet. EMF holds a treasure trove of pre-loved Archie comics and Sweet Valley High books that my parents once said would rot my brain.

Also: trashy romance novels for lonely hearts who can’t face the mocking gaze of the Kino cashier (someone you know might see you!). There’s also a convenient borrowing scheme: paperbacks are ‘rentable’ for two months, hardbacks for a month, and the price varies depending on the title.

#02-24 Holland Village Shopping Centre, 211 Holland Ave (6467 5335).
