Osunlade’s career as a producer, DJ and spiritual father spans more than a decade, and includes stints producing music for the legendary Patti LaBelle, Roy Ayers and even the popular US children’s show Sesame Street. As an ordained priest in the traditional African religion of Ifá, Osunlade – an American now based in Greece – incorporates his faith in his deeply spiritual house tracks as well as his record label, Yoruba Records.

Yoruba has earned a reputation for being one of the most important dance music labels worldwide, releasing quality dance tracks for a decade and gaining the respect of the international dance music industry as well as the underground community. Yoruba’s premise of producing music that reflects the soul of many cultures does not stray far from the vision of Osunlade; under his direction, the label has also cultivated new artists such as Djinji Brown, Afefe Iku and Oveous Maximus, who performed at Singapore’s edition of Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Festival in May.

An artist who breathes his life and faith into his music, always inspired by the places he visits or inhabits. His sound ranges from jazzy soundscapes narrating his time spent in the magical Greek island of Santorini, to deep, percussive house tempos that mirror those he’s unearthed from his ancestral roots in Africa.
