In this colourful collaboration between St James Holdings and Fly Entertainment, Lah! Mardi Gras, will tempt and arouse partygoers for three whole days in the spirit of – you guessed it – Mardi Gras. For starters, we have Tony Moran – who has remixed for three of pop’s foremost gay icons in Britney Spears, Celine Dion and Donna Summer – returning to the decks after headlining this year’s Sydney Mardi Gras. For the second night of the fiesta, Loungezilla (real name: Fiely A Matias), a one-man comedy stand-up act who will make your sides split with his brand of twisted, camp and naughty sense of humour.
But before you hang up your sailor shorts, leather straps and tight T-shirts, let all inhibitions go with Australia’s Jake Kilby, when this DJ lets loose a set that ranges from dirty electro and progressive house to disco, euphoric trance, sexy tribal and unadulterated pop. Accompanied by the only chick on deck for the festival, ’90s model-turned-part-time actress/DJ Eve Salvail (who could give SamRon a run for her money) will open with her hard-hitting house set.
But wait, there’s always room for a little dessert: how does a catwalk parade of hunky studs, choreographed by Hideki Akiyoshi, sound as the icing on this cake? Guess it’s not just Sundays that get to be fabulous.
