Known for his signature sound, Chainsaw Madness, DJ R3hab has worked his magic remixing tracks for artists like Lady Gaga, LMGAO, Pitbull, Madonna and more. Signed by DJ-producer Afrojack to his label Wall Recordings, R3hab's more noteworthy original productions include 'Pump the Party,' 'The Bottle Song' and 'Prutataaa.'

Why I became a DJ… I always liked music – ever since the day I was born. I started off just DJ-ing for fun, then I started to produce, and from one thing came another. DJ

R3hab is my name because… I think after visiting my show, the good people from Singapore will definitely need r3hab! [laughs]

Pre-performance ritual… Drink lots of water, check my iPhone and eat some healthy food.

My shows are filled with…
Energy and a lot of connection with the crowd. I get into their heads, basically. I'm so deeply connected to my fans that I forget everything else.

Music artists I want to collaborate with… Adele and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

My relationship with Afrojack… He took me under his wings; he started to help me out on production skills, and I jumped on the Jacked tour. I have huge respect for him and I’m very grateful for the start of my career.

The way I work on a song remix… I always remove the original beat and start from scratch. Basically, I try to imagine how it would sound like if I had to produce the original version. From there, I start remixing and create something totally different from the original, so it really has my signature on it.

Most memorable gig… EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival) Las Vegas is one of the best gigs out there because of the great production and enormous crowds. But, on the other hand, every gig feels special. It sounds cliché, but it’s still the truth.

Most recommended festival for EDM (electronic dance music) fans… Tomorrowland!

Advice to aspiring DJs… Practice and practice – it comes down to dedication and practice every single day. What’s next… Working on my own R3hab originals and producing more for other artists.
