The Bang Gang Deejays
This Australian crew gives France’s sartorially and musically similar Ed Banger a good sockin’. Repped by Modular Records, the anarchically brilliant Bang Gang Deejays – made up of Ajax, Dangerous Dan, DJ Damage, Gus Da Hoodrat, Double Nolan and Jaime Doom – create a kind of chaos under control with their rockin’ electro sets.

The Bang Gang Deejays caught the attention of the media halfway through last year when word of their ‘Bang Gang’ nights spread across the web, sending an ‘electro’ shock through the clubbing scene in Australia and beyond. Similar to hot favourites Simian Mobile Disco and Kitsuné, The Bang Gang Deejays string genres together to form a collage of ‘mishmash’ noise. Is it a rave? Is it an indie-rocking, some-kinda-hipster phase? Yes. But who cares? These DJs know how to throw a party.
Already making its presence known worldwide, the six-man collective has performed in famous clubs like London’s Cable Street Studios and their mixtape Light Sound Dance has been compared to Get Physical’s Body Language Volume 4: Mixed by Dixon and Fabric’s FabricLive 36: James Murphy & Pat Mahoney by dance and electronic music webzine Resident Advisor.
Expect lots of slicing and dicing with chunks of Modeselektor, Klaxons, The Rapture, Boys Noize, MSTRKRFT and a touch of Walter Meego, DeeJay Punk-Roc, Claude VonStroke and Ratatat. Pull on those modish leggings and neon bracelets and start banging.
