Despite its low profile, Archipelago bears the distinction of being Singapore’s first commercial brewery, established back in 1931. The company now channels its efforts into making freshly brewed ‘craft beers’ for the discerning drinker. With a roster of six signature ales including the dark, creamy Java and refreshing Straits Pale, award-winning brewmaster Fal Allen has raised the bar for local beer standards. Patrons are encouraged to appreciate the subtleties of each brew rather than the standard chug-a-jug approach. And with daily happy hours until 8pm, there’s no time for sulking.
