Seekers of all that is good and Mexican should tread lightly at Cha Cha Cha – while the margaritas are deliciously potent and mixed with fine Sauza tequila, the food isn’t quite as authentic as you’d hope. The portions are by no means stingy, but there’s something about the combination and proportions of cheese and spices (like cumin and ancho chili powder) that doesn’t do the trick. Not to mention that Mexican food is traditionally cooked in good old-fashioned lard – a no-no in the increasingly health-conscious F&B industry – which might be one reason the Cha Cha Cha fare isn’t as good as it could be.
