Bars and nightclubs in Singapore
The Bellini Grande
Sinatra-era glamour came to Singapore on 2 October at the opening of the opulent and cavernous Bellini Grande club. Where once the Crazy Horse cabaret showgirled into town to great fanfare – but ultimate failure – Bellini has opted for a different tack: a much lower entry fee (of $25/$20 on the weekends and $15/$12 in the week including 1 drink) and a rotating cast of house musicians. (The launch band is an impressive 18-piece pop/jazz combo with seven striking dancers – six of them hailing from France – which will serve up soulful sets ranging from funk to cha-cha.) Split into two areas, Bellini’s foyer-style bar leads into a huge, plush, stage-flanked bar/restaurant space. If the high-society faces spotted at the club’s opening are anything to go by, expect an exclusive, bling-dripping crowd here enjoying late-evening swingin’ sessions.
