Fifteen minutes of what? Unless you’re on Facebook, you’ll need to go and see for yourself, because this students’ bar-cum-restaurant-cum-live music venue at LaSalle College of the Arts is only marketing itself through the social networking site. In line with the architecture within which it’s couched, this split-level, open-plan space is, at first glance, pretty impressive. And more than that, it’s something quite different for Singapore. Ignore the overly exposed ceiling pipes, along with the godawful acoustics and far-too-bright lighting, and you’ll have found yourself an excellent place to pretend you’re studying (read: chill with your friends). The major draw is a decent line-up of amateur live bands and DJ gigs, with a few open-mic nights thrown in for good measure. The drinks menu is okay; there are all sorts of spirits and quite a few beers, but our advice is to stay away from the cocktails. The very friendly barmen are being terribly honest when they say they’re not quite sure how to make them.
