You may already be aware that this well-known hotel’s lounge bar offers overpriced glasses of champagne, a menu that lists ‘mo mixology from around the world’ (WTF?) and a caviar ‘motini’ for $1,888 (yes, you’re reading it right). It’s no surprise no one’s ever ordered the rare Russian fish-egg martini, but despite the prices, the bar staff are delightful and there’s a very happy happy hour. Try the Adam’s apple martini, a mouth-tingling, sweet-andsour delight at $20++ (not included on the happy hour menu), or a classic dry martini for $13++. It’s not as cheap as chips, we know; but if you’re there from 6pm, as we were, you’ll also be served a small selection of to-die-for Italian olives and a sample of tapas that will help hold you over after one martini too many.
