A bohostyle café-cum-lounge that sees guest DJ gigs by the likes of funk and soul collective Pushin’On. It’s quirky, vibrant and altogether not quite Singaporean
With Greg Lyons dropping the groove with his talented jazz ensemble, vocalists like Fendi and Alemay Fernandez belting it out, and Aya Sekine mashing it up with turntabalist KoFlow and Budi from percussion group Wicked Aura, music is kept raw and real at the otherwise quirky BluJaz. The bar snacks and drinks menu don’t take long to figure out, but choose your seating area wisely as the dining and alfresco area on the ground floor, bar and dance floor on the second and lounge on the third all offer a different vibe.

I'm a waitress in bars/club. Dude, you ''simply'' forget to pay the bills and just walk away. Did you know who ends up paying your 'forgotten' bills? US. be it small or big amount! You probably deserve that scream from her. You have no idea how many times people went off without paying their bills and sometimes it takes away our days of salary to cover ur 'forgotten' bill. So please, think about that!

Actually i would said it is a great chillout point and nice comfy ambience that is what i prefers. But surprisedly on 11th Jan 2011 Tuesday evening around 6.30 - 6.45pm. My friend and I left without noticing that we did not pay the drinks bill actually. A waitress from your cafe was standing around 153 tall; tied pony tail, short, fat and petite filipino ran toward us where we were walking away and tapped on my friend's shoulder without even return a apology to remind that we forgotten to pay our bill. Instead, she voiced out at the traffic junction and screamed with her unpleasant attitude on us. It sounded very offensive of how she spoke and showed as she really thought that my friend and i cant be possible to afford paying the bill just less than S$10 DOllARS only. After paying her the bill with my S$10 from my purse without getting any change from her, I told her that the rest can be her tips. Eventually, I thought she would said :" Thanks & please come again." ..BUT NOT AT All!! she screamed at us by saying :"NEXT TIME PlS PAY YOUR BIll !". Now, the boss of Jaz cafe..can i kindly asked you a question. When a customer enjoyed the chillout in your cafe after that, is she/he have their wrong in forgetting to pay bill ? Anyways, I can be counted as one of regular customer that often chilled out over there and sometimes, I likes bringing my foreign european friends to your cafe. But your staff seriously own me a sincere apology for her impoliteness though. Right now, how can i introducing my friends to such a cosy ambience cafe but yet the attitude in your staff(s) are unfriendly?

I spent some time in the ground level while a jazz band was playing, nice mood. But it is in the upper levels where the ambient gets really cozy. That is the strength of the place, while food was not specially good.

I love this bar because of its homey feel, its cheap and delicious food and its ambiance. The decoration is super nice and wacky, you feel like you're in an artist home. Loooooove it!!!!

the few times i went there something always went wrong, the first time the (v. smart) bartender asked me if i want my beer hot or cold, the second time i got trampled by an elephant sized woman on the dancefloor, on the same night they tried to overcharge me and 3 girlfriends, an incident for which noone even tried to apologize! the third (and last time) i was there was for lunch, not only was the foor greasy and not particularly good, it took over 45 minutes to get to the table, and i guess this isnt exactly the cafe's fault but i slipped on my way out and broke a heel! each to his own, but no blue jaz cafe for me, thank you very much!

Blu Jaz Cafe is one of my regular hangouts, especially on the nights that Pushin' On takes the stage. The red interiors and mood lighting helps to get you in the mood along with the smooth funk, soul and hip hop grooves from the DJ crew of Pushin' On. I love the fact that it feels like my second home. Love it!

great atmosphere and the bar upstairs is so very much like a good ole dingy melbourne pub - reminds me of the GB in richmond! its also one of few places in the area that serves alcohol

Besides having regular DJ gigs and live music acts, this venue also provides a space for artists to show their work. The vibe is laid-back and unpretentious; you can slouch into a couch or dance circles around your friends. The food here is pretty good as well. But if you're not looking for a full meal, their chicken wings is the answer for the munchies.
