Klee

The uppity crowd was a put off and the staff aren't exactly out to please. But who cares, I am there for the drinks. My husband and I were there about 3-4 times between Jan to Sep this year. I like Vivan, the bartender b'cos he makes the effort to understand what we like and customises the drink for us. He takes feedback well and we are very happy with what he has done for us. I can't say the same for the other bartender though. The manager certainly knows his stuff and obliges each time we ask him questions about the liquor or drink-mixing. I think it is a great place for people who appreciate a good drink and enjoys a good conversation on drinks.

Despite the awesome setting (mostly because of the proximity to colbar and the fact that my dad was stationed in the old army camp nearby), Klee manages to really rub me off the wrong way. I've gone there 3 times now to make sure it wasn't coz of an off-day on my part. I really wanted to like the place! To be fair, there was one decent guy behind the bar (and they serve Kronenbourg Blanc, at least they did when I was last there) but the manager and the other bar-keeps need to can their "I'm too cool for this" attitude. Not that it's surprising, considering the attitude of the people running it, the place festers with the smug, uppity sorts - the sort with execrably phony accents and glad-wrap girlfriends. Fail!

It's a cavernous space with seats 'round a long bar and a few tables; a place you'd expect a charming host to seat you, yet unfortunately, on a Friday night, there was none. It's also a space where those standing, waiting to be seated, are quite conspicuous and very much the centre of the entire single room. The bartender and waitress looked up at us, only to whisper to one another then continue to ignore us, as we patiently remained standing until the seated patrons became also confused as to why we were left unattended. Finally, we left embarrassed and bewildered. Better to go elsewhere folks than be left out in the cold. These guys can't even get the 101 stuff right.

I recently came across Klee in a magazine, thought searching for feedbacks and comments before dropping by and woah..the comments seems to be aligned. Looks like I'll give this place a miss. Thanks for all the comments!
