Lousy bar. To avoid at all costs. Several people approached me. I thought in a gay bar, it was to cop a feel. It turned out to be PICKPOCKETS!!! The bar guys are young, rude, cannot speak English and very mercenary. It is not FREE. They will force you to buy drinks and they never stop asking again and again. When you stop buy, they literally chase you out. After making money from you. Bar is small and cramped. Also drinks are diluted. Feels like a scam. Sometimes, they also host other corporate parties on Fridays and Saturdays and it is not all gay leading to some homophobic white guys denigrating gays. Best to avoid is bar. Although PLAY and HAPPY have cover charges, once you get in, they don't harass you endlessly to buy drinks. Also, they are huge packed and have better music and crowds. Taboo and Tantric are basically scams. I suspect their bosses are from Malaysia? Best to avoid unless you want to be pickpocketed, cheated of money by weak drinks, violently harassed. Bars like Taboo and Tantric are to trap tourist dollars. AVOID at all cost. PLAY and HAPPY (ORCHARD) are much better.

Had the best few hours at Tantric in the early hours of last Saturday. What a fantastic place - great vibe, excellent music, attentive staff and very friendly customers. As an out-of-towner I would definitely recommend a night at Tantric. One of the best places I've been to in my travels.

I've been in Singapore for a few months now, and finally ventured to Tantric. Staff was very attentive -- was quick to take drink orders, take the glass, and to ask if I wanted another. Staff was a bit cute too, but not overly friendly but that was obviously due to the large crowd quickly building. Music was rather slow when I first arrived but about 15 mins later after the crowd began building, the fun started. Drinks are also strong and cheap, which is a definite plus! My only complaint is that the place is so small! The management should think about expanding or moving to a bigger building. Cheers from a Californian.

before heading to Taboo. How's bar work for me is usually if I don't get some service and left thirsty, I go straight to the bar and ask for one like demand for one. Overall Tantric is fine but I'm not a frequent Tantrician.

Very disappointed with Tantric Bar. The management should do somethings with the service and the air conditional. Bloody warm inside the bar.The music is very loud. What a disappointment !

I went to Tantric Bar last weekend and it was packed.I agreed that the service was bad and the music was loud.You can heard the music across the road.Seems like the management dont really care about complaint as they re the only 'alternative'bar in the market at this point.

I was stopping by Singapore and visited Tantric with much hype and excitement, but sadly the place was just a courtyard and a sad looking bar. Service was bad, with an equally bad crowd. People were drinking and squatting by the road and it makes the place look so horrid. Would never visit it again!

I think Tantric has changed manager. The old one (Robin?) has left. How can the bar provide good service when there're 1999 people packed in a place maent for 50 people with 5 waiters? James, sadly, foreigners are the reason why this bar is packed with the local SPGs, so they do treat you diffrently alright, different but nice!

I would like to made myself clear that I am disappointed with the service. JP, how can you tips someone without having your drink first? It was very obvious that the staff chose customer that night as I came first at the counter and was not been served.It's happened to the German's guy who was next to me ,complaining about the service too.So,something is wrong with the service. Sad

Funny how your encounter completely misrepresent Tantric! If Tantric staff ever choose customers to serve, locals will be the last on the list. Trust me on that! Ang Mohs always rule in the SPG bar like Tantric! Sadly...
