Pick up one of the old, second-hand, even rare books, and settle into the painstakingly sourced retro G-plan styled furniture (unlike Restore on the other side of this row, the furniture’s not for sale, sorry) that populates this shiny red-floored book café, arts space and intimate music venue. Espresso – with beans brought in from Highlander – is available, as well as a range of Scottish and Japanese whiskies, Australian and Chilean wines, English ciders and European lagers. Try the brown latte ($4.50) made with chocolate milk if you’re the designated driver. Celina’s Gastrobar next door lends its menu so no one needs to go hungry.
