Spider Room

Following a short closure for renovations in August 2012, the Crystal Pavillion at Marina Bay Sands has reopened with a new top floor called Spider Room taking over the second level of Avalon. The lounge follows the same operational concept as the defunct by-invite-members-only Spider Club, which was located inside Avalon Hollywood and provided a paparazzi-free safe haven for Hollywood elites looking for a comfortable pre-party respite, also allowing them the freedom to continue on to Avalon later in the night should they choose to. Singapore’s Spider Room is envisioned to be a similar lounge space and run the same way. The space, designed by Fuur Associates, who worked on TAB, Jigger & Pony and Gem Bar, is now an intimate 60-seater lounge – with a full capacity of about 300 – fitted with leather sofas, knee-high and standing cocktail tables.
