As its name implies, this venue is quite rightly suited for those who stay up all night. It practically never sleeps and you’ll love the fact that the happy hour lasts from 11am to 9pm. Serving food in the day, it turns into a live music bar at night and appears to be very popular with the expatriate crowd. And that’s probably thanks to the regular house bands (there are currently two, Chill Factor and Batteries Not Included, otherwise known as BNI) that crank up the entertainment factor by churning out contemporary and rock music. Lest you get bored of hearing the same stuff, Insomnia changes the bands every three months or so, so don’t get too attached. And if you belong to the ‘fly the friendly skies’ pack, there’s a bonus: you automatically get 30 per cent off food and drink.
Insomnia was featured in our recent Morning Glory - Best Western Breakfasts feature.

It's a great night and the music is good. However, the band wasn't singing or playing instruments...it was a show (miming); quite impressive, that's how they managed to sing the same songs over and again...

The band is excellent especially BMI. Though the songs are repeated its the quality of the music and skills of the musicians that counts :)

Location wise it's easy as it's at CHIJMES but the live-bands aren't great. They play the same music everynight and the DJ is some old dude, spining songs from the 60s and beyond. Honestly, he hasn't got a clue! Crowd wise, if you're looking for "company", the place is filled with women from Thailand and Phillippines... Need I say more? Drinks are resonable but staffs are nasty! They take ages to bring you your drinks. Not the best place in town unless you want to be sworn by "me love you long time"s...
