It is a common belief in Asian culture that during the seventh month of the lunar calendar, spirits leave the underworld to roam Earth. To appease them, people offer items like food, flowers or fire. This piece by Zai Kuning, Dickson Dee and Otomo Yoshihide is a collaboration presenting their own understandings of this ritual. Mixing electronic and acoustic music with vocals and video, each artist offers his own style to the performance, resulting in a moving exploration of spirit and human interaction.
