Singfest 2007

A sizeable crowd assembled for the eclectic mix of performers on day one of the first ever Singfest - Sasha Bach Band, Shaggy, The Stranglers, Cyndi Lauper, Sugar Ray and Pet Shop Boys.

Weather- fine.

Organisation - brilliant.

Artists – good. But we noted some particular things:
- Shaggy does actually have a lot more hits than anyone remembers.
- The Stranglers are older than almost anyone can remember. One of them apparently taught the promoter of Singfest when he was at school.
- Cyndi Lauper is a great performer. Her (unrehearsed) duet with Shaggy was also great.
- Pet Shop Boys have a very talented group of singers and dancers. Despite arriving on stage after midnight, more than an hour late, and starting at a slightly pedestrian pace, the Boys (?)enthralled the crowd with a great show and a long musical memory trip. Valiant efforts followed by Time Out Singapore journalists and ticket winners to interview the artists.
