The local musician presents an ‘operatic tone poem’ about the titular bird having to choose between his mythical Jade Palace and a modern world of industry and machines. Musicians from Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan and Hong Kong perform on a mix of Chinese and Western instruments. Cast includes soprano Ee-Ping, baritone Huang Rong-Hai and tenor Melvin Tan. Part of the Singapore Arts Festival.
