Yes, it’s back again by popular demand. Set in a totalitarian state, the play is about a writer, Katurian, who’s arrested when bizarre crimes happen with distinct similarities to his grotesque fairy tales. The plot revolves around his interrogation and incarceration, and can only be described as a very dark comedy.

Watched the premiere of The Pillowman last night. I don't think a play has ever made me speechless. The storyline is brilliant - luckily I didn't know EXACTLY what the crimes were all about, otherwise I may not have watched it. Fantastic, convincing performances by the lead actors. Almost too real for comfort. Emotions ranged from laughter to discomfort to disgust and sadness - finally turning into a mild panic as I was leaving the theatre. An emotional rollercoaster, which deserves only the highest marks. No wonder the second run of this chillingly amazing play is already sold out.
