The year of the Monkey comes to a close with Wild Rice’s rendition of the beloved Chinese classic Journey to the West – only this time it’s called Monkey Goes West and promises to be a cheekier, more fun-filled and set in Singapore. Watch Ah Tang and his band of travellers, including Wukong the Monkey King, Pigsy the warrior and Sandy the river ogre, journey from Haw Par Villa to Jurong West.
They’ll face obstacles along the way, and maybe learn more about the idea of home whilst on their travels. Written by Alfian Sa’at with music by Elaine Chan, the performance is helmed by Broadway Beng's Sebastian Tan and stars the likes of Chua Enlai, Siti Khalijah Zainal and Joshua Lim.
