Purists insist that the original Taipei location is superior to the Singaporean outpost. But it is hard to find fault with the fab xiao long bao: tiny rounds of pleated pastry filled with sweet minced pork and fragrant soup. Each silken mouthful is an explosion of flavours – sweet, salty and sour, gingery and vinegary. Before you know it, a whole basket has been consumed. The braised beef noodles are also superb.
In late 2010, Din Tai Fung introduced its new East-meets-France truffle xiao long bao. Inside is an additional shaving of the heady black fungi imported directly from France. This variation is available now while others – the chicken xiao long bao, angled gourd and shrimp xiao long bao, and the fish dumpling – will be available in the first quarter of 2011.

Din Tai Fung is my all time favourite place in Singapore for Xiao Long Bao. So petite, with fresh, delicate skins and delicious broth. What an amazing invention!
I've only discovered them since I moved to Singapore a couple of years ago, not having found anything of their equal before in Australia.
I always take friends visiting from home here as it's delicious, great value and really consistent.
With a compact menu there's no problems with not understanding it or having to explain too much either. DTF for the win!

One of the best restaurants that offer top class xiao long baos. The skin is thin, the fillings adequate and the splurting of the juice into your mouth when you bite into them. Absolutely mouthwatering!

We go to DTF at least once a fortnight and take all of our visitors to Singapore there for a great, cheap and fun meal. They really have got the mix of good food, good service and reasonable pricing just right.

This is the only place i've been to in Singapore where the service is consistent ie EXCELLENT. The waiting staff are well trained, they're efficient and friendly. They see you're dining with children and will bring put a baby chair and plastic table setting in place BEFORE you sit down. No faffing! The food is always excellent. The best dim sum i've had and an unbeatable egg fried rice. All this and it's reasonably priced. We always leave this place happy (and stuffed to the brim); we always bring our visitors here and we always go back for more!
