Singapore restaurant reviews and food articles
Xi Yan
With barely six tables, serious jockeying and planning ahead is required to get into the first and only outlet outside Hong Kong of this famed Chinese private kitchen restaurant. The marquee attraction is graphic designer-turned-chef Jacky Yu’s mesmerising multiple-course degustation menu (which changes once a month, on average). Yu’s style combines chutzpah and bold flavours with Asian classics such as sweet coconut chicken soup; rotund tomatoes draped in a lush wasabi-sesame sauce; velvety broiled chicken snuggling up against cold soba tossed with peanuts and midnight hued century eggs; or even a terrific jumble of al dente Shanghainese rice cakes and kimchi.

most original cuisines unlike most Chinese i have ever had. What i love most about it is the distinct taste of each dishes which continue to surprise and refresh from one course to another. Though there were 12 courses unlike most wedding dinners, i didn't feel stuffed or tired after eating. Indeed some thing different from most Wedding dinner i have attended. At least its well worth the 'ang pow' gift pack :-) Truly matches its name wedding banquet
