It’s safe to say that when Sticky Rice opened, it raised the glamour quotient of the residential suburb of Serangoon Gardens. The Thai restaurant has been designed to within an inch of its life, complete with smoky mirrors and dramatic splashes of blood-red lacquered panels. The set lunches (under $10) are a bargain. On weekends, the place buzzes as the owners’ fashionista friends tuck into crispy soft-shelled crabs served with a thick shower of pomelo pearls and translucent chopped garlic, and sweet mango desserts.

Sticky Rice was featured in our recent Comfort Food - Basic Instincts - Where to Eat feature.
