He’s a long way from New Orleans, but for American Bernie Utchenik, home is where the stomach is. Wedged incongruously between a rojak and fishball noodle stall, he serves up monstrous portions of American diner fare - gumbo, burgers, steaks, fries and the like - at really low prices. Best cheap meal bet: the Swanky Franky hotdog ($9), is a log-like chicken sausage wrapped in bacon, blanketed with melted cheddar and onions, and served witha giant side order of fries and coleslaw.
