Here, big portions (washed down by beer, of course) are the order of the day. The thickly cut fish burger stands out with some really good fat chips, while the smoked salmon wrap is kept interesting with avocado and chive cream. The steak and kidney pie is a wonderful dome of puff pastry floating over a stew cut with sweet, fragrant dark ale. Or just come, after the movies, for the pavlova or sticky date pudding.

the pumproom at clarke quay serves outrageous and horrid food. Dun go there. waste of time and money. Unlike the outlet at Great World City which is better. I guess the chefs there are better cooks than in clarke quay. A disgrace.

the pump room is one of the worst bars i've been too. they have no concept of customer service, the staff is rude. they only had 3 of the 8 "specially brewed" beers on their menu. they won't let you use their precious restrooms if you are drinking outside at their tables. i've never been to such an awful bar.
