You can say this about the Tung Lok Group – it’ll ruthlessly cut off any loss leaders. Blink and its Thai outlet Paddyfields has suddenly given way to a mid-priced Chinese outlet. The menu bears a passing resemblance to Crystal Jade, with dim sum, noodles and yummy xiao cai. The mahjong tiles of roast pork are shatteringly good, while the eggplant clay pot is smoky-flavoured and laced with the sharp tang of salted fish. The yang zhou fried rice is nicely oiled, and an ideal foil for the unctuous dark gloss of the coffee-sauced pork.
