Carry On

This quaint little retail cafe in the East carries a double entendre in it's name – both an empowering message to ‘carry on’ with life and a nod to the funky bag brand called YADU (upcycled from clothes and other fabrics) that it carries from the Philippines. Along with the occasional bike on its racks for sale, there’s also Spanish and Filipino-infuenced bakes to munch on. Savouries like the corned beef pande sal bun ($5), a toasted soft roll filled with Edam cheese and sautéed shredded corn beef are balanced with the decadent sweets; also yum are the sans rivals ($8), four layers of finely-ground cashew nut-infused meringue and the brazo de mercedes ($5), a type of cake roll made from soft meringue and filled with a lemony custard.
