Malay for ginger, Halia’s menu is surprisingly not dominated by the pungent root. Surrounded by greenery, this restaurant inside the Botanic Gardens serves simple European dishes with an Asian twist in all its three rooms: Wine Bar, Courtyard and Gallery Room. Sample the signature roasted rack of lamb in Javanese spices ($45) and the Chilean seabass en Papillote ($47). Ginger makes a welcome cameo in the Halia Infusion, a drink made with honey and sun-dried slices of ginger, which lend the beverage a heavy herbal overtone.
