HITS
The light, fluffy macarons at Carousel. We’re partial to the apricot and saffron flavour. While you’re at it, the orange-and almond flecked Florentines make a nice coffee treat.
The milky, satiny lychee ice cream at Azabu Sabo.
A big bravo to the guys at Jelita Cold Storage (293 Holland Road; 6469 3877) for their ordered product displays – every tin, bottle, box, fruit and veggie is pleasingly aligned and tidy. (Yes, we have OCD.)
The view isn’t the only thing that’s great at City Space. The thin-crust pizza (made fresh next door at New Asia Bar) is, in our humble opinion, one of the best in town.
The cute taxi calling cards on the tables at PS. Cafe listing the numbers of taxi companies and a handy map on the reverse.
The moist and not-too-rich Rose Petal Chocolate Brownie and Hibiscus Cheesecake at Eden’s Café.
MISSES
While we love the view and the pizza at City Space (see above), we’re not so pleased that the black-gown-clad girls won’t serve tap water – guess it’s not classy enough. But when you’re already paying more than $20 for a drink and you’re forced to buy Evian just to stay hydrated, is that any classier?
Waiting 20 minutes for a basic panini and then getting the wrong one at Leo’s Espresso Bar.
The clueless wait-staff (manager included) at Samar Cafe that tried to pass off warm oil as gravy. The shame.

I don't think I would call these cards "cute" when it means that PS Cafe will refuse to call you a taxi even though you may have just spent $$$ eating and drinking there. That's not cute at all.
