A recent visit to Chip Bee Gardens was a nice reminder of how cosy this stretch of Holland Village still is. The à la carte menu here is surprisingly small, with barely three mains. Investigate instead the well-priced set meals where the range is larger and includes a hefty cut of veal wrapped with bacon, and a thick juicy steak on a pile of fries. As good as the mains are, the desserts are strange, such as the strange platter of fruits, and two meringue bricks topped with commercial whipped cream and ice cream. Stick to the lemon sabayon tart.
