French chocolatier opens café on Portsdown Road
Established by the master chocolatier himself, this simple and charmingly decorated café, which was once a colonial bungalow, makes for a fitting setting for that romantic yet approachable evening meal or afternoon break. Expect a wide spectrum of French cuisine comprising salads, quiches and smoked-salmon croque-monsieurs. Surely not to be missed are the pure chocolate desserts for which the chef is best known, like the indulgent chocolate soufflé with the perfect cracked top filled with vanilla-bean sauce, or the chocolate torte with a pleasing pie shell.
