Packed at lunchtime with suits from neighbouring offices, this hawker centre in the heart of the CBD is set in a lovely, cast-iron Victorian structure, with delicate columns and an octagonal floorplan. It was shipped over from Glasgow in 1894 (by the same company that made the iron for the 1868 Cavenagh Bridge). Try the grilled skate and seafood at stall 43, and a multicoloured ice kachang at one of the many dessert stalls. Alfresco satay stalls appear at night.
