With slick stonework and glass, mood lighting and luxury finishings, this does not feel like your typical Indian restaurant. But the scent of lingering spices – not to mention the tables laden with curries and lassis – gives the game away. The food is delicious, whether it’s fat prawns crimson from the tandoor oven; minced lamb kebabs perfumed with cloves; or piles of garlicky and buttery naans. A new menu and renovations were under way at the time of writing.

We went to Ran Mahal today and really enjoyed the food (buffet!). Being vegetarians, we were bit skeptical as most of the restaurants here serve limited variety of veg dishes in buffet, but rang mahal had a very good choice. My little one also enjoyed a good spread of 'authentic' indian dishes. To be honest, the food was so novel, that I had to admit that few of the dishes I had today - Stuffed Beetroot kofta, Tandoori Lotus Flowerroot, were something I never had before. They were good. My wife was very impressed with ambience and the service. I will recommend this place.
