Yantra
published on Sep 18 2009 - 11:53

Make no mistake; Yantra is not just another north Indian restaurant, it is JS Gill’s (of Royal Sporting House fame) chic Indian fine-dining outpost – and it rocks. Should you fail to be impressed by its elegant interior (which looks like a page from Vogue Décor) and glass-encased open kitchen with four gigantic tandoor ovens, taste the awesome dishes that are being served. Get your palate rolling with kachumber, a refreshing salad of tomatoes, onions and cucumber tossed with an Indian spice-infused lemon juice dressing. It’s worth making a trip just for the anise-scented, sausage-like grilled minced lamb on skewers – mutton seekh kebab, a flavour-packed treat. But if you like it all saucy, the boneless tandoori chicken in a satin-smooth, fenugreek-perfumed broth of tomato butter, murg makhani, is the perfect accompaniment to the crisp and light naan.
