Imagine having a restaurant so busy that you refuse to answer the telephone at all. Well, here it is. PS Cafe only takes bookings by SMS and does not take bookings at all for brunch on Sunday. But it is worth the wait – just check out the huge pieces of home-made rocky-road on the counter as you walk in. The menu is quite restricted but delicious, and the service is brisk. Sit indoors near the open kitchen or outside overlooking the leafy environs. On Sundays, expect a 30-minute wait – don’t fret as we have seen some others doing, just put your name down and stroll around Dempsey Road for a while. Actually, that should help to ensure that you can manage all three courses.

I visited PS Cafe for lunch on 8th August and the service was fantastic, the food was so good that I am going back this week! The staff were so friendly and the place was mobbed. I can't believe so many people have such a negative view of it as in my opinion it is hard to beat in Singapore

We were a table of 6, on a Wednesday for lunch. It was great! Staff was very, very polite. They even gave individual bills when requested! Never had that before in Singapore! Food was fresh and beautifully presented!! We will go back, with out a doubt!!

I went this Saturday and it was one of the worst dining experience I've had in Singapore.
The staff are clueless and incompetent. We had to ask waiters for everything - water, cutlery and even salt and pepper! Not only did the mix-up the orders, the last dish arrived 25 mins after the first one.
The food itself was mediocre. The fries were cold, and the Shepard's Pie was hardly had any meat in it. To top it all off, the drinks were weak!
For the pleasure of such bad service our bill was $320.
White people seemed to have all the best tables. Perhaps if I had white skin, I would have had a better table, better food and service. Will recommend this to my white friends this week and see how it is.

it is not wrong to say their service sucks big time, even if off-peak... besides racism (means more tips for the pathetic staff), wrong orders are a norm, plus stuck up behaviour when the staff are not even up to class... there are many greater restaurants around... ps cafe is heading for closure soon if this issue is not addressed

We stopped going here finally. The six-odd times we went there taught us a lesson: Bad service is not the exception but the norm here. Basically the service is pathetic.
Last time around waited 30 minutes for a menu only to find the order was wrong. Furthe, from water to cutlery everything had to be asked for.
Further they seemed to not understand when 3 people are eating a meal together it is generally the practice you serve their meals together rather than stagger each peoples meal.
The staff is rude and is incapable of in my opinion providing good service. The location is great however it is a painful experience to eat here.
Going out and dealing with rude staff members and poor service is not really my cup of tea !!

Twice been there and disappointed!! First time was when the host dismissed me and quickly went on to attend to more 'deserving' guests. Second time, the waitress told me rudely I cannot eat my own food (I just want something to munch on while waiting for a very long time for my food) as a gentle reminder will do. The fries later were cold and the mains were not that fantastic. Whole experience was runied because the staff do not seem to know how to handle situations like that professionally.

I've always have a good time in PS cafe...granted it can get a little hectic at peak hours but I go because like the energy and the yummy desserts!..Frankly if you're impatient,PS Cafe probably isn't the best place for you...but to commment that their asian staff are racist seems a little quick to judge...I've never had that experience in the many times that i've been there.

After hearing the raving about the ambiance and food there, I went with a group of friends. Turnout: Main Course - Terribly bad. For the price we are paying, the food that is served does not justify at all. Service - Disappointing. Apparently like what the others mentioned, the whites are better attended to. Our group of 5 Asians were simply isolated. The only comforting thing, DESSERTS - delectable.
Still, this does not computes a good enough reason for me to patronise them again.

Having read the various comments about PS Cafe, I would be most reluctant to go there when visiting or recommend to visitors. Any cafe with obvious colonial attitudes should not be listed patronised.

My previous visit to PS about two months ago was unpleasant to say the least. Very rude staff, especially the person attending to the seating up front. She had conveniently skipped us and proceeded to seat the "white" people ahead of us eventhough we had arrived first. Very condescending waitstaff who rolled their eyes at questions. Totally rubbish experience. Last night I thought I would give it another go because my friends wanted to head there for dessert. Same situation took place at the front with waitstaff deciding to attend to white people before us eventhough we were there ahead of them. I told them off and left. I'm never going back there again.

Perfect place to unwind. Great food and great service but the cosy relaxing atmosphere is what really impressed me. I've sat outside on the deck among the trees and kicked back in the comfy indoor lounge seating. It feels like you are a thousand miles away from frantic Singapore. Kudos on creating the perfect ambiance!!

I was there last sat and made no reservation so had to leave by 8pm s they fully booked that nite. We obliged but casually mentioned if there is a table for desserts pls let us know. The staff attended to us simply brushed our request with her eyes rolling to-and-fro and keep trying us - will try. By 7.30pm, there was no update from this staff and we decided to leave. I wonder is it cos we're looked differently and not "angmo"

Found the staff v v rude all 3x i've been there. Once, i was the first of the bunch to arrive and decided to have a drink while waiting. They refused to seat me asking that i stand by the entrance as the tables in the bar area were full - NOT. 2 big tables were empty but apparently reserved. Told them i'd be happy to move once the guests had arrived. After some discussion, i was still told "no" and to boot, the mojito was watery. Their beef rendang lacked oomph and desserts were too cloyingly sweet. Having said which, loved the ambience outside.
