It’s a little astonishing to realise that tiny Buko Nero still has such a long reservation list. But then, the biggest draw has always been husband-and-wife team Oscar and Tracy Pasinato, who run the tiny dining room like a trattoria: the Asian-inflected Italian menu changes regularly. Recent favourites included a ragù of pork sausages, an exquisitely buttery squid-ink risotto and the cloud of coconut foam over a pannacotta streaked with gula melaka. Our only gripe is the poor ventilation from the open kitchen.

We have eaten at Buko Nero over 20 times in our 6 years in Singapore. We even stop once a year on our way back to Sydney where we now live. Oscars food is better than most top restaurants here. We have always had great service and amazing food. Those of you complaining must have nothing better to do as it really is faultless.

i was there recently. just to get a reservation is a drama. a lady answered and was quite rude.they seemed that i was doing a favour to them just to eat there. i was told it was good so i decided to give it a try. the service was really poor. food not hot. at least what me and my wife had experienced. a bad dining experience from d beginning to end. far from being one of the best in singapore. definitely not genuine Italian food. chef oskar should dine at the new lighthouse for inspiration ..

Exceptional food in every way - ingredients, preparation, recipe, presentation. I lived in NYC for 7 years and Buko Nero would stand out even in that city of fine restaurants.

Just went to BN last night for my hubby's bdea treat. We both agreed the beef steak was the best we ever had so far - juicy and nicely cooked without being overdone. And we both love the complimentary appetisers served in cocktail glasses as well as the simple yet addictive desserts! Will definitely recommend this place to friends for a special night out.

Giovanni - where else do you eat in Singapore if all of those places are better than this one? Or do you really work in another Italian restaurant? Buko Nero's service is second to none and the 5 course set menu at $48 very good value. Food was delicious, although very rich so you cant eat there all the time - which is unlikely as you wouldnt be able to book it. Lovely.
