Time Out says

Since its opening in 2013, Cicheti has been serving solid Italian-inspired creations and good vibes in equal measure. It marked the birth of the Cicheti brand, which has seen a resurgence in recent years with the launch of Bar Cicheiti near Keong Saik and Caffe Cicheti, which has taken over Finn's breezy spot at South Beach Tower. With the success of the newer concepts – both are constantly fully booked – it's only right that the OG gets a refresh as well.

In true Italian fashion – although we'd argue that Cicheti's food refuses to be pigeonholed and instead offers a mix of Mediterranean and Singaporean flavours as well – the menu is split into sections of antipasti, primi, second, pizza and dolci. Begin your meal with small plates like the Zuppa di Cozze e N’duja ($24) or grilled sea prawns (market price) fresh from Tekka Market. Packed with explosive flavour, both offer a hearty and unreserved welcome to Cicheti – a reflection of the restaurant's convivial warmth and rustic charm.

Cicheti's beloved Neapolitan-style pizzas ($18-$28) remain on the menu, all nicely charred in its wood-fired oven imported from Italy, of course. But those looking for something new can try their luck with the off-menu specials: a Sicilian-inspired Napoletana with slivers of white anchovy and stracciatella and anything else the chefs might be experimenting with.

Fans of Bar Cicheti's plates of pasta can find equally scrumptious options here. The Paccheri ($28), a short tubular pasta served with pulled beef cheeks stewed for hours in sofrito, is a familiar and comforting dish that's sure to please while more adventurous diners can try its version of linguine vongole ($29). The classic clam pasta dish is turned on its head with huge Hobinosugai clams and a jalapeño, anchovies and onion purée.

And as you might have come to expect from the group, everything from the menu can be paired with a selection of Italian wines, running the gamut of classics from Tuscany and Piedmont to rare finds made with more uncommon grape varietals like Freisa and Fiano. Take a gamble and dive right in – because at Cicheti, you know you're in safe hands. Even seven years on, the restaurant continues to be a reliable old favourite and shows no signs of slowing down.
