Buried among the eclectic Mediterranean menu is a small but rather decent Italian section. The carbonara is a big serving of cream, eggs and pancetta with a choice of pastas. The thin-crust pizzas are kept simple with toppings like tomatoes and anchovies. Avoid the miserlysized, house-cured salmon salad – it’s not worth its $26 price tag. Of course, if the emotional stakes are high and bingeing is required, the adjoining buffet – combining Western roasts and sushi – should do the trick. Yes, it’s hotel cooking, but this is hotel cooking at the InterContinental standard.
