Homemade Italian in Bishan
As quirky as its musical term of a name (tempo rubato means ‘stolen time’), this off-the-beaten-path Italian restaurant has set up its digs among a cluster of industrial warehouses, adjacent to a row of shophouses. Young head chef Wu whips up comfort Italian food that seeks to appeal to groups of families or couples. Tagliatelle with porcini mushroom sauce or burratina cheese salad complements a quiet evening, while the rib-eye risotto is a satisfying stomach filler. Small fairy-light lamps hang above white tablecloths in this intimate setting in which tables are grouped closely together, making for a warm atmosphere.
